Geology of Mars

Christina Beck, a planetary geologist of the Johns Hopkins University, explores the geology of Mars by using the Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for Mars (CRISM). One of her fields of research is Valles Marineris, a system of canyons on the east of the Tharsis region, which resembles on Grand Canyon on our planet.
