A Black Hole Powered Galaxy Radiates Gamma Rays Toward Earth
By using the Very Energetic Radiation Imaging Telescope Array System (VERITAS) and the Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope, astronomers have discovered that the source of gamma rays that reached the Earth in April 2015 is an unusual type of galaxy known as a blazer. The galaxy is called PKS 1441+25 emits powerful energy that comes from the central black hole.
