Dawn’s Farewell Portrait of Vesta
– ” For You To Enjoy And Share With Friends” –
An amazing simulated flyover of the most intriguing landmarks on giant asteroid Vesta, as seen by NASA’s Dawn spacecraft. Dawn’s goal is to research and investigation in detail of two of the largest protoplanets remaining intact since their formations. Ceres and Vesta reside in the extensive zone between Mars and Jupiter together with many other smaller bodies, called the asteroid belt. Each has followed a very different evolutionary path and studying them should give us a better idea of the processes that operated during the first few million years of solar system evolution.
Dawn has now completed its mission to Vesta and is on route to Ceres.
