– “For You To Enjoy And Share With Friends” –
Interesting information on Sungrazing comets, the Kreutz path, and why before 1979, there were less than a dozen known Sungrazing comets and as of December 2012, we know of 2,500.
The Kreutz Sungrazers family of Sungrazing comets are characterized by orbits taking them extremely close to the Sun. They are believed to be fragments of one large comet that broke up several centuries ago and are named after the German astronomer Heinrich Kreutz, who first demonstrated that they were related.
