Animated Images Show a White Dwarf Tears Asteroid Apart

This animated video represents 12 year process of ring formation around a white dwarf. This white dwarf is seven times smaller of the planet Saturn, but 2,500 times more massive than it. The white dwarf’s strong gravitational pull has the ability to shred asteroid into pieces if comes too close.
