A great introduction into how black holes are formed with reference to VY Canis Majoris, the giant star featured in one of our recent videos on hypernova. It was once thought that black holes would never be found, however we now believe that there could be billions of them in the Universe.

Black holes could be the most destructive objects in the Universe. We believe we know a lot about them but I wonder how much there is still to learn.
