Carl Sagan’s Pale Blue Dot

A great little video that shows us arrogant humans how really insignificant we are in the greater scheme of things. Our Planet Earth, which we call ‘Home’ is nothing but a Pale Blue Dot in the vast Universe. When photographed from Voyager 1 at about 6 million Kms from Earth, the Earth appears as a bright pale blue pixel.

Professor Carl Sagan was perhaps the most famous astrophysicist of recent times. A list of his achievements would be endless but he is best known for his research into extra terrestrial life and his television series of the 1980s, Cosmos – A Personal Voyage, which he narrated and co-wrote.
