Giant Black Hole Digests a Nearby Star for More Than 10 Years

Using data from the NASA’s Chandra X-Ray Observatory, scientists have detected a giant black hole that has been digesting a nearby star for more than ten years. According to them, this rare event explains how supermassive black holes were created during the early days of the Universe.
