NASA’s Asteroid Capture Plan

An animation of NASA’s plans to capture an asteroid and move it into the Moon’s orbit. This plan was recently confirmed by the Obama   administration and initial funding has been approved.

The goals are to investigate and develop asteroid mining science, to learn more about asteroids and develop strategies to deflect them from a possible collision course with Earth.
