– “For You To Enjoy And Share With Friends” –

A NASA’s Mars Curiosity rover team member gives an update on developments and status of the planetary exploration mission. In particular she talks about the SAM (Sample Analysis At Mars) instrument suite which is being used to analyse the Martian atmosphere.

The Curiosity Rover will conduct a nearly two-year prime mission to investigate whether the Gale Crater region of Mars ever offered conditions favorable for microbial life and to gather more information on the chemical composition of the soil and rocks to give a better understanding of the evolution of Mars. Its predecessors however have continued for many years after their original planned mission and it is hoped that Curiosity will continue for many years too.
