Salute to Spirit

With all the limelight taken up by Curiosity, it is easy to forget that of the two previous Rovers, Opportunity, is still going strong. However Spirit has not been heard from for over three years. Here is a report and a tribute to Spirit from two years ago.

Spirit travelled almost 8km and its mission lasted for six years as opposed to the three months that it was planned to last.
