Titan – The Orange Moon Of Saturn

Titan is the largest moon of Saturn and by volume is even larger than Mercury. It is in effect a planet in its own right. It has a dense atmosphere and surface liquid has been found. It is currently being explored by the Cassini spacecraft and the Huygens probe, named after the man that first discovered it, landed on the surface in January 2005.

Scientists believe that the Titan environment is very similar to what is believed to have been the environment of a primordial Earth. All the chemicals and necessary compounds for life are there all be it in a frozen state. It is quite possible that in 6 billion years from now when our Sun has become a red dwarf, the temperature of Titan will increase and the conditions will become ripe for some form of life to manifest.
